A wine with character that is worth trying.

It all started with an unplanned maceration lasting half a day. The fresh version of the wine was too structured, even a bit bitter, but in the taste we recognized the potential for a top quality wine in the aged version. This is how Vale la Pena was born, which in our local dialect means “worth trying”. Vale la pena is complex, elegant and velvety, with a light hint of wood that is present but not overwhelming. It is honey-coloured with the smell of ripe fruit given by Malvasia, combined with the aroma of butter and a hint of wood. And as our grandfather says – if it was better, it wouldn’t be good.
